MUIC Hosts Final Round of HSBC Business Case Competition 2025

On May 3, 2025, Mahidol University International College’s (MUIC) Case Club hosted the Final Round of the HSBC Business Case Competition 2025 at the HSBC Bank - Lumpini Head Office. This prestigious event marked the conclusion of an intense and inspiring competition, following the preliminary rounds held on April 30 and May 2.

The four finalist teams were Casa Consulting (MUIC), Barbie Consulting and Red Ruby (Thammasat University), and Pinnacle Partners (Chulalongkorn University). In the final round, each team tackled a real-world business case without access to the Internet in a three-hour time limit –relying solely on their knowledge, teamwork, and critical thinking.

The event was officially opened by Khun Giorgio Gamba, CEO and Head of Banking at HSBC Thailand, followed by the introduction of a distinguished panel of judges—prominent industry leaders who brought a wealth of experience and insight to the competition:

- Khun Nopadej Karnasuta – President of Thailand Business and Energy & Industrial Solutions Business, B. Grimm Power Pcl.

- Khun Von Nonsrichai – Chief Operating Officer, HSBC Thailand

- Khun Stephen Ashworth – Managing Director, Hutchison Ports (Thailand) Ltd.

- Khun Dillip Rajakarier – Group Chief Executive Officer, Minor International Pcl. and Chief Executive Officer, Minor Hotels

- Khun Sutheep Ratnabhas – President, Asia, Maxion Wheels (Thailand) Co., Ltd.

Following the final presentations and thorough deliberation by the judges, a consensus was reached.

Congratulations to this year’s winners:

Winner: Pinnacle Partners, Chulalongkorn University

1st Runner-up: Red Ruby, Thammasat University

2nd Runner-up: Casa Consulting, Mahidol University International College

3rd Runner-up: Barbie Consulting, Thammasat University

The event concluded with closing remarks from Ms. Wimonsiri Hemtanon, MUIC’s Associate Dean for Student Affairs. The final round showcased rigorous analysis, strategic thinking, and outstanding teamwork — a true testament to the caliber of Thailand’s brightest business minds.

MUIC Case Club extended heartfelt congratulations to team Pinnacle Partners from Chulalongkorn University and all finalists for their remarkable performances. Special thanks to HSBC teams, faculty advisors, organizing committees, volunteers, and all participants who made this event possible.
