Mahidol University International College (MUIC) conducted an Online Freshman Orientation as part of its precautionary measures against Covid-19.
With the theme “The Best Version of Me to YOU,” the online orientation for the 1st Trimester, Academic Year 2020-2021, was held at the Auditorium, MUIC Building 1 on September 2-3, 2020, with freshmen being able to access it via several online platforms.
The morning session on September 2 featured greetings from MUIC alumni and seniors, followed by Assoc. Prof. Chulathida Chomchai, M.D., MUIC Dean, who delivered a welcome address, along with an introduction of executives. A series of video clips entitled “A Day in the Life of a MUIC Student” showed scenes of student life in the campus. There was also an introduction to Unity Camp (a major activity for freshmen), and an online game entitled, “Call Me If You Can.”
In the afternoon session, the MUIC Music Club gave a “Live Music Performance,” followed by a “Clubs Showcase.”
The session on September 3rd featured important information about the various academic programs of MUIC (Business Administration, Travel and Service Business Entrepreneurship, Media and Communication, Communication Design, Intercultural Studies and Languages, Applied Mathematics, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Food Science and Technology, Physics, and International Relations and Global Affairs).
Aside from these, other presentations included “Academic Information,” “MU Regulations,” “Registration System,” “Information on Humanities and Language Courses,” “An Indispensable Resource,” “Library Section,” “MBA 4+1 Program,” “How to Expand MUIC Academic Life to Global Experience,” and “Online Learning Tools for Students.”
