Around 60 high school students attended the “Diplomat Camp” organized by the International Relations and Global Affairs (IRGA) Program of Mahidol University International College (MUIC) on September 2, 2023. The camp gave students a firsthand experience of the life of diplomats.
Four diplomats from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Thailand, one of whom is an MUIC alumnus, were the guest speakers.

Mr. Karin Kunjara Na Ayudhya of the Department of International Organizations and a Social Science alumnus (Class of 2012)
They introduced the students to the different departments of the MFA and the types of work done in each. The IRGA Ambassadors helped facilitate the proceedings.
The students participated in activities that simulated the tasks done in the MFA. This allowed them to interact directly with the diplomats and one another, enhancing their networking and communication skills.
The students learned about the different roles and responsibilities of diplomats, as well as the challenges and rewards of working in the field of international relations.
The “Diplomat Camp” was a well-rounded and educational experience that benefited the students in many ways. It gave them a glimpse into the world of diplomacy, helped them to develop their skills, and inspired them to pursue a career in international relations. This unique opportunity to learn about diplomacy and international relations from experienced professionals corresponding to SDG 4 – Quality education.
