The Business Administration Division and Project Development Unit (PDU) of Mahidol University International College (MUIC), in collaboration with the Institute of Management (IBR), Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU), Switzerland, held the 10th Executive Seminar (Online) in Thailand on February 21-25, 2022. This is the second time it was held through an online platform. The participants were mid-level management executives and CEOs working for Swiss companies.
The program featured lecturers from MUIC, HSLU and from Constance University of Applied Sciences (HTWG). There were also guest speakers from international organizations. These included Mr. Rasi Conradin, Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of Switzerland in Bangkok and Mr. David Stauffacher, Executive Director of the Swiss-Thai Chamber of Commerce (STCC), who discussed the “Thailand’s Business Context – Swiss-Thai Bilateral Relations & Recent Trends.” Additionally, there were guests from the UNESCAP, Dr. Riccardo Mesiano, who talked about “Sustainable Development: Experiences in Asia,” and Dr. Mia Mikic, who shared her perspective about the “Economic Dimension of Sustainable Development with a Focus on Trade and Investment of Asia-Pacific.”
In addition, Mr. Dirk Uphoff, Purchasing Director Southeast Asia from Robert Bosch Thailand discussed the topic of “Technology Development, Sustainability and Diversity at Bosch” while Mr. Peter Wiesner, the Advisor to the Board of Directors at Bangkok Airways talked about Thailand’s boutique airline to be managed during the covid pandemic”.
Aside from this, three speakers from the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP)— Ms. Arada Fuangtong, Deputy Director-General, DITP, Thailand; Ms. Patcha Wutipan from the Office of Information Technology and Service Development Director; and Mr. Chanthapat Panjamanond from the Office of Digital Commerce Marketing Director, discussed the topic “The New Economy Academy: The Tole of DITP to Promote International Trade.”
An MUIC alumnus, Ms. Pavini Tanitpongpavi (Computer Science, Class of 2013), and the PDU team also joined this online seminar to exchange knowledge of business, culture and more during the group discussion. It was an interesting opportunity for Thai and Swiss students to brainstorm on said topics in their classes.
