A group from Mahidol University International College (MUIC) visited on February 14, 2023 the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), together with the participants of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts who were attending the 11th Executive Seminar in Thailand.
The program included several lectures and workshops dedicated to the challenges and opportunities for sustainable development and business sustainability in the Asia-Pacific region.
The participants learned from the insightful knowledge and experiences of two distinguished keynote speakers from UNESCAP. Mr. Arman Bidarbakht Nia, head of the Statistical Data Management Unit of the Statistics Division, shared the progress of the Asia-Pacific region towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Mr. Jonathan Wong, chief of the Technology and Innovation Unit of the Trade, Investment and Innovation Division, presented the opportunities of Innovation solutions and policy initiatives to contribute to the achievement of the SDGs and the Agenda 2030.
The workshop also included interactive lectures delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Isabel Pereira Rodrigues, a faculty member of the Business Administration Division of MUIC, on business challenges and opportunities for sustainability.
The workshop was conducted in a very participatory format, resulting in fruitful discussions.
