Title: AI-Enhanced Learning: Enabling Teachers & Empowering Learners

Date & Time: Friday, 2 May 2025 from 10:00 - 11:30 am

Venue: A451, Aditayathorn Building

Conductors: Mr. Adriano Quieti & Mr. Joseph Serrani

The AI-Enhanced Learning Workshop was designed to introduce educators to a comprehensive framework for integrating artificial intelligence (AI) tools into teaching and learning. The session aimed to equip teachers with practical strategies to enhance AI literacy, foster student autonomy, and effectively implement AI in classroom settings.

A key focus of the workshop was empowering students to take more ownership of their learning, while still aligning with curriculum objectives. This theme sparked meaningful discussions on finding the right balance between teacher-guided instruction and student-driven exploration. Through group activities and reflective exercises, educators explored how AI tools can address individual learning needs without compromising academic structure or standards.

The workshop also featured hands-on demonstrations of tools like ChatGPT and Elicit, which support learners in research, content creation, and critical thinking. These tools were presented as means to promote independent and informed learning. At the same time, the role of teacher oversight was emphasized to ensure ethical and responsible use of AI technologies.

Participants openly discussed concerns around AI in assessment. While some expressed hesitation about using AI for grading or exams, many agreed that AI can play a valuable role in providing formative feedback and scaffolding student learning when used appropriately. Collaboration was highlighted as another area where AI can enhance both individual progress and peer-to-peer interaction.

The session concluded with a shared understanding that while AI holds significant promise for education, its successful integration depends on thoughtful implementation, ongoing professional development, and alignment with both ethical standards and curriculum goals.
