On February 19, 2024, senior staff members from Chiba University paid a visit to both the Project Development Unit (PDU) and the Preparation Center for Languages and Mathematics (PC) of Mahidol University International College (MUIC) to explore avenues for further collaboration.

Over the years, Chiba University has maintained a strong partnership with PDU, regularly sending students for two-week courses. Since 2014, PC has played a crucial role in supporting these students by providing components of English instruction for discussions and presentations, thereby enhancing the students' academic experience and promoting cross-cultural communication.

During the meeting, discussions revolved around expanding opportunities for collaboration. PC expressed interest in extending projects with Chiba by inviting their students to participate in various programs, such as a five-week course or regular PC courses. This initiative aligns with Chiba's objective of providing international exposure to its students. The meeting provided an invaluable platform for the PC Director and relevant staff to engage directly with the Chiba University delegation, addressing pertinent issues and laying the groundwork for future synergistic endeavors.

MUIC also hosted an on-campus lunch and conducted a short walking campus tour. The Chiba team was delighted to see the green campus and to enjoy the atmosphere in Salaya. This meeting marks another milestone in our nearly decade-long partnership, signifying a promising future for collaborative efforts in academia.

In addition, MUIC’s Human Resources Section had the honor of meeting with this Chiba University delegation. MUIC representatives shared details of how MUIC has developed both its academic and supporting staff through various programs, including the Upskill & Reskill Program, Human Resources Development Budget (HRD Budget), and graduate degree scholarships. The representatives from Chiba University expressed approval of the development welfare programs provided by MUIC. Moreover, the representatives shared features of development programs available to their own academic and supporting staff. Overall, the meeting proved insightful and productive for the attendees from both universities.
