The Digital Art Club of Mahidol University International College (MUIC) organized an “Original Book Cover ContestOnline” from October 3 to November 10, 2024.

The contenders were required to create an original book cover (front and back) and write a synopsis of the story on the back side. The contents and characters of the story must be purely original, with no relations to any existing franchises/work. The artwork must be entirely made by the student. No tracing and any involvement of AI generation (painting over AI-generated images, etc.) and the book cover must not contain explicit content, gore, violence and/or nudity.

The club officers said this contest was organized to encourage students to be creative and bring their visions to life, as many staff in the club and students are interested in book cover designing and original story writing.

The 1st Place winner is Ms. Suthasinee Hu whose entry is entitled “Poppyland Murder.” She received a cash prize of 2,000 Baht.

The 2nd Place winner is Ms. Qianyu Liu whose entry is entitled “Iron Blade Silver.” She received a cash prize of 1,500 Baht.

The 3rd Place winner is Ms. Siriarpa Itthisawad whose entry is entitled “OK! Let’s Go!” She received a cash prize of 1,000 Baht.

All the winners are from the Fine and Applied Arts Division. The contest had a total of six participants, though many more expressed interest in joining but did not have enough time to make their designs. Nevertheless, the competition received numerous positive feedbacks.
