To map the Humanities and Language Division’s (HLD) plan for the next four years and align it with Mahidol University International College’s (MUIC) new overall strategy, the division held its Faculty Retreat on March 3, 2023 at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel, Bangkok.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Analiza Liezl Perez-Amurao, HLD Chair, assisted by Ajarn Agnieszka Atthasit, Division Vice Chair, along with the division’s program directors and program coordinators, led the nearly 30 full-time faculty members in the day-long strategic planning workshop.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Patsarin Wongkamhaeng, Assoc. Dean for Strategic Planning and Quality Development (SPQD), and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Claus Schreier, Asst. Dean for SPQD, participated as well, helping explain to the division MUIC’s 4-year plan. Mr. Ratha Techa-apichoke, an associate of XPotential, served as the overall facilitator of the activity.

The retreat / strategic planning workshop was divided into phases 1 and 2. Phase 1 focused on MUIC Strategies No. 2 (“Inspire lifelong learning through liberal arts”) under which HLD is preparing for its eventual AUN-QA accreditation and No. 4 (“Foster global citizenship/ mindset”) which would be implemented by the division via the HLD Cultural Week in June this year. Phase 2, on the other hand, focused on the three remaining MUIC strategies.
