MUIC’s Rakkaew Club Encourages Sustainability in Coconut Shell-painting Workshop

Mahidol University International College’s (MUIC) Rakkaew Club organized “Paint the Kala” activity at Ground Floor, Aditayathorn Building on March 3, 2025.

During this workshop, 44 student participants were provided with coconut shells which they can transform into beautiful pieces of art. They had the freedom to paint their own designs, encouraging them to express themselves through a traditional craft that highlights sustainability, as this workshop demonstrated that coconut shells that are commonly discarded could be repurposed in creative ways. Once the painting was complete, participants can take home their custom-designed coconut shell as a memorable souvenir or decorative item.

This activity not only fostered creativity but also promoted mindfulness, as the process of painting designs is both relaxing and rewarding. The activity proved to be a perfect blend of art and sustainability, offering a fun and meaningful experience for everyone involved.
