After weeks of amusement and connection with their seniors, for Mahidol University International College (MUIC) freshmen, “P’ Meet Nong” was simply the penultimate event for the much anticipated grand finale of the entire “Rubnong” or Freshmen Welcoming Activity. “One-Day Camp” is an activity filled with even more excitement and thrilling games for freshmen to enjoy and learn the Mahidol University core values and to participate with their new friends and peers while meeting even more people outside their initial groups.

Organized by the Sophomore Class Committee (CMM658) on January 27, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., the freshmen registered at MUIC Old Building before making their tour around the university and trekking to the Siriwitthaya Building (Liberal Arts Building). Upon arrival, the freshmen were greeted by the Class Committee with song and dance, signifying the upcoming fruitful activity of the day.

Throughout the day, over 200 participants played exuberant games such as “Demand and Supply” a game race to make shapes and sell them; “Call Ambulance” where the participants have to carry their patients to safety; and “The Golden Egg Race” where the objective is to complete all the minigames to retrieve the Golden Egg, all the while also providing the necessary essentials—lunch, dinner, and medical care. Finishing the day off with “Combine Activity” held for freshmen of every group to sing and dance together collectively.

In the evening, after all the fun and games, CMM658 organized a heartfelt “Candle Ceremony” welcoming all freshmen into MUIC. With the candlelit atmosphere and warm wishes given amongst each other; emotion filled the room, surpassing everyone’s expectations for its delightful and lovely merry execution of activities.

Over 300 people came and left with great memories. The activity created a strong sense of community among freshmen and seniors that will endure for years to come.
