Former UNESCAP Administration Director is Guest Speaker in MUIC Business Course

The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Program of MUIC hosted Mrs. Anne Matthews, former Director of Administration of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) on October 5, 2022 as guest speaker for the course on Market Structures and Pricing Strategies, conducted by Asst. Prof. Dr. Isabel Pereira Rodrigues.

The guest lecturer addressed the topic “Leading and Managing in a Not-for-Profit Environment during Difficult Economic Times.” Taking the perspective of a non-profit organization context, Mrs. Matthews reviewed approaches and best practices adoption to gain a competitive advantage, which prove to be especially valuable in challenging economic times. Through case studies, there was a discussion of the challenges and opportunities for effective decision making.

The talk included a lively discussion with all participants, who were particularly keen on knowing how a non-profit organization is able to motivate stakeholders for the implementation of innovative and sustainable management practices.

MUIC expressed its appreciation of Mrs. Matthews’ contribution and looks forward to welcoming her again in the near future.
