The Knowledge Commons welcomed Mr. Shane Bunnag, author of the book Chariot of the Sun, to Mahidol University International College (MUIC) on Thursday, November 17, 2022. Held at the newly designed FAA student lounge, it was a uniquely intimate event joined by nearly 100 students, faculty, and special guests. In his talk, Mr. Bunnag led the audience through a layered and multi-faceted expression of history through images and film, interweaving narratives of a city at various stages of construction, demolition, renewal, and decay. And in the backdrop, he wrestles with the legacy of an esteemed yet complicated Bunnag family–a lineage close to the center of power in the story of modern Thailand–as both an heir and a conduit for history.
