The Diving Club of Mahidol University International College (MUIC) reopened the Pool Session on November 4-5, 2023 at BB Marine Boating and Scuba Diving, Bangkok catering to both groups of individuals: those aspiring to join the Ocean Session for scuba diving certification and those eager to explore the wonders of scuba diving.

This activity served as an enlightening experience for non-divers, allowing them to delve into the captivating world of scuba diving under the guidance of the club’s seasoned instructors.

Throughout this engaging session, the instructors meticulously covered essential theoretical concepts, ensuring that each of the 40 participating students gained a comprehensive understanding of the principles of scuba diving. Subsequently, participants were equipped with real scuba gear and received hands-on training before immersing themselves in the scuba pool.

Within the pool's controlled environment, participants had the opportunity to practice a set of crucial skills. This included assembling dive equipment, donning the gear using proper techniques, conducting buoyancy checks at the surface, inflating/deflating the BCD (Buoyancy Control Device) on the surface, adopting proper breathing patterns, and maintaining buoyancy while swimming, among other vital skills. Additionally, participants practiced the giant stride entry into the scuba diving pool, which simulated a 5-meter depth, preparing them for the real giant stride entry from a boat.

Furthermore, the club’s dedicated diving instructors emphasized safety precautions by sharing their real-life experiences as case studies. This valuable insight ensured that all participants were well-prepared for safe and enjoyable diving experiences in the future.
