A faculty member of Mahidol University International College (MUIC) joined a national forum with leaders from policy, finance, technology, academia, and the digital asset industry to define Thailand’s direction in digital asset education.
The Thailand Digital Asset Leadership Forum, held on May 5, 2026 at SCBX Next Tech in Siam Paragon, Bangkok, showcased how Thailand is emerging as one of the region’s most active digital asset education ecosystems. The event highlighted how universities, industry leaders, regulators, and ecosystem builders collaborate to strengthen digital asset literacy, develop curriculum, engage students, and enhance professional readiness.
Dr. Aman Saggu, who teaches at MUIC’s Business Administration Division, participated in a panel discussion on digital asset education alongside Dr. Udomsak Rakwongwan of Kasetsart University, Dr. Korn Poonsirivong of Binance TH Academy, and Panchita Asavateeranun of OM Platform and Block Mountain. The panel explored how universities, industry partners, and ecosystem builders can collaborate to strengthen digital asset literacy and prepare students for emerging opportunities in blockchain, Web3, tokenization, decentralized finance, and related fields. Key takeaway: Collaboration between academia and industry equips students for the digital asset landscape.
The panel identified that Thailand leads in digital asset education due to its regulatory experience, active industry, public engagement, and robust university initiatives. These factors position Thailand to become a regional leader in digital asset adoption and talent development.
The discussion also expanded on ongoing digital asset education initiatives that MUIC has supported through memorandums of understanding with Tether.io and Bitazza Thailand. These initiatives have created opportunities for students and the broader academic community to engage with digital asset education through guest lectures, academic events, industry engagement, and applied learning activities. By linking classroom learning directly with practitioners and ecosystem participants, these collaborations expose students to real-world developments in blockchain, stablecoins, tokenization, and decentralized finance.
The panel urged stakeholders to expand digital asset education beyond a few well-known universities. Although leading institutions have started integrating blockchain and digital asset topics into teaching, the next phase should broaden access. Supporting universities across Thailand will give students from diverse academic and regional backgrounds a chance to participate in Thailand’s digital asset future.
Dr. Saggu proposed the Thailand Digital Asset Leadership Forum as a catalyst for a cross-university digital asset education alliance, aiming to unify universities in sharing knowledge, developing curricula, and creating pathways into the digital asset economy.
The forum brought together stakeholders from regulation, industry, academia, and technology, showcasing the sector's maturity and the importance of collaboration for digital asset education and innovation.
Gun Clawvuthinan, Founder of APE X CRYPTO and former APAC Growth at Uniswap, and his team, together with supporting partners (Tether.io, Siam Commercial Bank, Token X, TrueMoney, Binance TH Academy, Gold Sponsor, and Thai Fintech Association), organized the event.
MUIC’s participation highlights a commitment to advancing interdisciplinary financial education and preparing students for defining the future landscape of finance and technology in Thailand.
