Mahidol University International College (MUIC) welcomed almost 300 inbound exchange and visiting students for Trimester 1, Academic Year 2026–2027, with an orientation held on September 10, 2026, at the Spectrum Screening Room, Aditayathorn Building.
The students came from diverse countries and regions, including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, the Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
The orientation introduced students to MUIC’s academic policies, student services, and campus environment, along with practical tips for adapting to university life and living in Thailand.
One of the guest speakers was Mr. Jonas Anderson, a Thai-raised Swedish singer of lookthung (Thai country/folk music), who spoke about Thai culture. On the other hand, Dr. Orrathip Geerathivudhipong, who teaches Thai language at MUIC’s Humanities and Language Division, taught the students some useful Thai language phrases which they can use in daily situations. Two students, Mr. Saw Moe Thauk, from the Applied Mathematics program, and Ms. Matthawan Lin, who is enrolled in the Intercultural Studies and Languages major, shared their personal experiences as MUIC students and gave pointers on how to enjoy their stay at the college.
On September 11, the students visited Nasatta Park in Ratchaburi Province, where they experienced Thai culture firsthand and explored cultural heritage and ecotourism.
Organized by the International Affairs Office, the orientation aimed to support international students in making a smooth transition to academic and campus life at MUIC while embracing new cultural experiences in Thailand.
