For four days this March, a corner of the Aditayathorn Building at Mahidol University International College (MUIC) transformed into a bustling hub of creativity and color. The Volunteer Club’s “Beads & Frame” workshop, held on March 9–12, 2026, drew an impressive crowd of 99 students seeking a productive and relaxing break from their academic routines.
The concept was simple yet engaging: provide students with Polaroid-style frames and a vibrant assortment of beads, charms, and crafting tools, then let their imaginations run wild. The workshop’s flexible, drop-in format allowed students to participate at their own pace, whether they came alone for a quiet moment of focus or with friends for a social crafting session.
Club volunteers were on hand to offer guidance and encouragement, fostering a friendly and interactive atmosphere that made everyone feel welcome. The event served as a much-needed creative outlet, allowing participants to de-stress while producing a personalized keepsake. Each decorated frame became a unique piece of self-expression, reflecting the individual style of its creator.
By successfully balancing fun with skill-building, the “Beads & Frame” workshop did more than just teach basic crafting. It created a valuable space for positive social engagement and mental well-being, proving that sometimes the most effective way to support the student community is with a little glue, a handful of beads, and a space to create.
