Music connects people on many levels—it can be engaging, transcending, alive, and of course entertaining. However, music can also be a solemn and heartfelt event much like the Mahidol University International College (MUIC) Concert organized by SMO Som-O—the MUIC Student Association— as they bid farewell to the MUIC Community from their positions as the student government body.

Held on June 26, 2025 at the Mahidol University (MU) Stadium, from 5:00 pm to 11:30 pm, SMO Som-O’s “Once in the Moonlight” concert served as a parting gift to the students of MUIC as they go on their long summer vacation and as a major farewell project from SMO Som-O as their time serving the students of MUIC was coming to an end.

Throughout the 3rd Trimester, many students had been wondering which artists would perform at this major event. They also hoped to see an amazing performance as many students of MU, MUIC along with outsiders, saw the promotional materials, ratcheting up their excitement level.

As the gates opened to let in the audience (composed of 711 students), the first band to perform was Last Order, the winner of the event organized by MUIC Music Club in collaboration with SMO Som-O, namely, “Soundscape Bands Battle: Campfire Crush,” which was held during the 2nd Trimester.

As it was a long night for many, some became hungry and found themselves wanting to munch on snacks as they enjoyed the amazing concert. Food trucks were on standby to fill in the gap in the audience’s bellies. “Zab Zab with Hello Meena (มีนา มีกุ้ง)” offered a delicious spicy shrimp and/or salmon salad that will make your mouth watery; “Koji Street Food” had its amazingly crispy deep fried Korean street snacks, all washed down with refreshing watermelon smoothies from “Jae Suay Pun Lek (เจ๊สวยปั่นแหลก).”

The second artist to take the stage was the popular pop music group MEAN with its best hits that bewildered the audience into thinking, “Was it love? Or an illusion? What do you really mean?”

The third to perform was the most well-known indie music band in Thailand, Polycat, with their ardent and expressive discography that touched many hearts and stirred their deep desire of being loved by their soulmate even if only for a moment.
