MUIC Chemistry Sophomore to Represent Thailand at Asian Science Camp 2026 in HK

A sophomore Chemistry student from Mahidol University International College (MUIC) has been selected to represent Thailand at the prestigious Asian Science Camp (ASC) 2026, set to take place from August 2 to 8, 2026 at The University of Hong Kong.

Ms. Natnicha Puttarangsee secured her spot after a rigorous selection process. Upon her advisor's recommendation, she applied for the program, passed an initial examination, and successfully navigated a competitive selection camp to earn her place on the national delegation.

"I look forward to two things during this milestone event," Ms. Natnicha said. "First, getting to meet and learn from Nobel laureates and accomplished scientists. Second, collaborating with international peers to develop a creative yet scientifically sound idea for the poster presentation."

Because teams are formed on-site with peers from various countries, Ms. Natnicha noted that she will finalize her presentation topic once the camp begins.

Co-founded in 2005 by Nobel Laureates Yuan Tseh Lee and Masatoshi Koshiba, the Asian Science Camp (ASC) was inspired by the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings. The annual forum serves as a hub for pre-collegiate and college students across Asia, fostering discussion and cooperation to advance scientific innovation. This year's itinerary features plenary sessions led by distinguished global scientists, including Nobel laureates, alongside cultural activities, extracurricular events, and excursions to Hong Kong landmarks like Ocean Park and Victoria Peak.

Swimming, Cycling, and Running Toward a Quiet Mind

On August 22, 2026, I completed my first IRONMAN triathlon in Tallinn, Estonia: a 3.8 km swim, a 180 km bike ride, and a 42.2 km marathon. It took me 11 hours and 35 minutes. While one of the perks of finishing an IRONMAN is the right to brag, that isn’t the point of this post. The point is that MUIC supported me in achieving this personal goal through the 40th Anniversary Academic Changemakers Scholarship.
