THM Club Connects Students with Nature and Community on Rayong Field Trip

Thirty students from the Tourism and Hospitality Management (THM) Club of Mahidol University International College (MUIC) recently traded lecture halls for lush gardens during an immersive two-day field trip to Rayong province on March 6-7, 2026.

Titled “Rayong: Coast to Garden,” the experiential journey was designed to bridge the gap between academic theory and the real-world practices of sustainability and community-based eco-tourism.

The trip provided participants a tangible understanding of environmental stewardship as they explored Rayong’s diverse coastal and agricultural landscapes. The itinerary was packed with hands-on activities, including interactive workshops on eco-friendly living, guided tours of local gardens, and engaging sessions with community members. These experiences allowed students to see firsthand how sustainable practices are implemented and their direct impact on both the environment and local livelihoods.

Beyond the educational component, the trip was a powerful exercise in team-building. As students collaborated on activities and shared their insights, they forged stronger connections, enhanced their teamwork skills, and created lasting memories.

Significantly, the "Coast to Garden" project was the club's second major activity of the term and was made possible by funds raised during a previous workshop. This demonstrated the club's forward-thinking and commitment to providing its members with valuable, self-supported learning opportunities outside the conventional classroom setting.
