E-Sports Club’s Dota 2 Tournament

The E-Sports Club of Mahidol University International College (MUIC) held the “Dota 2 Tournament” Online on September 25 – 29, 2023.

The “Dota 2 Tournament” was a high-stakes e-sports event featuring four elite teams in intense 5v5 Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) battles. Each match was a best-of-three showdown, requiring teams to secure two victories to proceed to compete against the next team.

Within the world of Dota 2, teams will need to play on both Radiant and Dire sides, and in case there is a tie, the side will be randomized. What set this tournament apart was the strategic depth of Captain’s Mode, where team captains carefully draft heroes for their squads, influencing the course of the matches.

In the strategy time, the player chose drafted heroes with distinct abilities to conquer the enemy team by countering the enemy heroes or complementing the teammate’s heroes. These heroes controlled by players engaged in fierce combat to destroy the enemy’s Ancient, showcasing their strategy, teamwork, and individual skill through precision, coordination, and strategic thinking.

This competition was a testament to the prowess of players and their ability to adapt to ever-changing dynamics. There were 29 students who participated in this tournament.

Team TCI was the 1st Place winner. Its members are:

1. Ratchapon Skuntantimeta (ICBE Senior)

2. Warakul Suwattananon (ICT Senior)

3. Warakul Suwattananon (ICT Senior)

4. Pawin Khamlaksana (ICT Senior)

5. Kunanon Jiarakul (ICCS Freshman)
