Mahidol University International College’s Model United Nations Club (MUICMUN) organized its first conference entitled “MUICMUN Conference: Napoleonic War” at Room A418, Aditayathorn Building on November 21, 2025.
MUICMUN’s first conferencebrought together a dynamic group of delegates for a day of lively debate, thoughtful diplomacy, and immersive historical exploration. From the moment the session began, 20 participants demonstrated impressive engagement, diving deeply into the complex geopolitical tensions of the era. Delegates exchanged well-reasoned arguments, challenged each other’s strategies, and thoughtfully examined the consequences of various military and political decisions.
A major highlight of the event was the remarkably productive discussion that unfolded throughout the committee. Delegates worked collaboratively yet critically, revealing a strong commitment to understanding the historical period and applying their knowledge in practical, diplomatic ways. Many participants said that the conference not only deepened their understanding of the Napoleonic Wars but also strengthened their confidence in public speaking, negotiation, and historical analysis.
In an exciting conclusion to the conference, the resolution that ultimately passed was authored by two new participants—the delegations of Portugal and Denmark detailing their willingness to cooperate economically, rebuild infrastructure that were destroyed in the conflict, while also making a realistic move to establish the German Confederation—showcasing how fresh perspectives can lead to meaningful and creative solutions. Their contribution highlighted the value of inclusivity and the impact of newcomers’ voices in shaping committee outcomes.
