The Science Society Club of Mahidol University International College (MUIC) hosted an exciting activity called “Digging Fossils and Gems” at Lobby Area, Ground Floor, Aditayathorn Building on June 12, 2024, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

This activity was designed to provide the 25 participating students with hands-on experience in scientific exploration. The club distributed fossil and gem kits to those who registered, aiming to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of science among the students.

During the activity, the club prepared DIY fossils containing various gems and fossil specimens. This allowed the students to delve into paleontology, studying Earth's biological history through fossils. These fossils, which included actual remains turned into rock or impressions preserved in rock, featured dinosaur remains as well as diverse crystals and gemstones. By examining these different species and types of gems, the students gained valuable knowledge and insight into the fascinating world of paleontology.
