Mahidol University International College’s (MUIC) Sigma Club organized “Alumni Talk Inspires Students to Explore Career Paths Beyond Graduate School” at Room A418, Aditayathorn Building on January 24, 2025.

The event featured engaging presentations by two distinguished alumni: Ms. Piyathida Tawornparcha (P’ Tee Tee) and Mr. Chattarin Ruchawapol (P’ Typhoon), who shared their professional journeys and lessons learned after graduation.

Ms. Piyathida, a Biological Sciences alumna from Batch 598, completed her Master’s degree in Biochemistry at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University in Taiwan and is currently working as a University Lab Research Assistant. She offered practical advice on navigating international studies and finding opportunities in research institutions.

Meanwhile, Mr. Chattarin, a Chemistry alumnus from Batch 588 who holds a Master’s degree in Chinese Materia Medica from Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, discussed his role in research & development at Henggentang Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. His talk highlighted the importance of industry-based research and how traditional medicine continues to influence modern healthcare innovations.

The event successfully provided students with inspiration, broadened perspectives, and direct connections with alumni who have ventured into varied and impactful careers. Organizers said they hope the Alumni Talk will become an annual tradition to help students confidently plan their futures with a diverse range of options in mind. The sessions were designed to encourage students to consider diverse career pathways, including options outside of traditional academic routes like graduate school.
