Student band Ashtray took home top honors on June 4, 2026, winning 1st Place and the Popular Vote Award at the "Season Change Band Battle: A Season Sets Apart," organized by Mahidol University International College’s (MUIC) Music Club in collaboration with the Student Association.
The event aimed to provide a platform for students to demonstrate musical skill, creativity, and live performance capability. The final showdown took place at Chroma Studio in the Aditayathorn Building, attracting an audience of 120 students, faculty members, and supporters.
Following a rigorous audition process during Week 3 of Trimester 3, AY 2025–2026, the top four student bands advanced to the final round to perform live before an expert judging panel. The jury featured professors from Mahidol University’s College of Music alongside professional recording artists from the prominent Thai record label GeneLab.
Ashtray delivered a standout performance that earned them the 1st Place title along with a cash prize of THB 5,000. Their energetic stage presence also resonated strongly with the crowd, securing them the Popular Vote Award and an additional THB 1,000 prize.
Band Delulu Motel claimed 2nd Place, taking home THB 3,000, while UNTITLED.WAV earned 3rd Place and a THB 2,000 award.
Beyond the competition, organizers highlighted the event’s role in promoting artistic collaboration, confidence, and community spirit across the campus. The success of this year’s Band Battle underscores MUIC’s commitment to fostering creative expression alongside academic pursuits, strengthening the university’s vibrant music culture for years to come.
