The American Flag Football Club of Mahidol University International College (MUIC) has launched its first-ever student-led league, marking a shift toward a more competitive training environment for athletes at Mahidol University.
The league was held every Wednesday from January 28 to March 4, 2026, at MU Soccer Field 2. A total of 27 students from both MU and MUIC participated, forming teams to compete for prizes in a structured format.
According to club organizers, the league was established to bridge the gap between casual weekly practices and high-stakes external tournaments. Previously, the club relied solely on infrequent outside competitions to provide a "lock-in" competitive mindset. By introducing a formal league, the club aims to accelerate skill development and offer a focused alternative for students who found the standard weekly sessions too informal.
Beyond physical skills like throwing, catching, and flag-pulling, the initiative emphasizes team chemistry and strategic cooperation. Club leaders noted that this rigorous weekly play is essential preparation for the team’s upcoming external competitions, where they will represent MUIC.
The addition of a competitive league has also successfully broadened the club’s reach, attracting new members drawn by the organized tournament structure and the incentive of prizes.
