CDP and CT Team’s Innovative Stage Design Wins in Bronze A’Design Award

A collaborative team of faculty and students from Mahidol University International College (MUIC) has earned global recognition, winning a Bronze A’Design Award for their spectacular immersive stage design. The award, announced on May 1, 2026, celebrates the team's groundbreaking work in the "Performing Arts, Stage, Style and Scenery Design" category.

The winning project, titled “Immersive Stage Projection Mapping Graphics,” was created for the Mahidol University Orientation held on July 29, 2025, at the Prince Mahidol Hall, MU Salaya Campus. The team, composed of instructors and students from the Communication Design (CDP) and Creative Technology (CT) programs, was responsible for developing the event's entire visual identity, from its core theme to the final, breathtaking stage presentations.

The A’Design Award is a highly respected international competition that recognizes excellence in design from top creators, agencies, and institutions worldwide. According to the organizers, winning the award offers participants "the opportunity to attain global recognition and enhanced status within the highly competitive industry," spotlighting their work on a global platform.

The inspiration for this project originated from the official theme of the event, “Be Your Own Fireworks,” which emphasizes the university’s commitment to encouraging students to discover and express their individual potentials. This concept is expanded through the interpretation of the institution’s core values, represented by the seven attributes expressed in the acronym “MAHIDOL,” each serving as a symbolic expression of personal growth and academic purpose.

What set the project apart was its innovative integration of neuro-design principles with multi-sensory storytelling. The team utilized synchronized LED displays, large-scale projection mapping, and an interactive tunnel environment to create a deeply engaging and memorable experience for the audience.
