Mahidol University International College’s (MUIC) Career Insights Club organized a field trip to Central Rama 9 on Rama IX Road in Huai Khwang District, Bangkok for 42 MUIC students on November 15, 2024.

The session began with a warm welcome and an introduction to the company by Khun Tanayos Khrutrabiab, Human Resources Director of Central Department Store Group, providing insight into the diverse business functions under Central Group.

Khun Tanayos highlighted that Central Group operates across three main business units: Central Retail, Central Pattana, and Centara. He also took the students through the company's history and shared the company’s current strategy to concentrate Central in major provinces, while positioning Robinson for a broader mass-market presence. He also discussed the different functions within the Central Group, the significance of omnichannel strategies and various consumer segments. Finally, he shared Central’s two career development programs for students interested in business-related careers.

After the insightful discussion with Khun Tanayos, participants were given a guided tour of Central Rama 9, where they observed how different floors were designed to create unique shopping experiences. Additionally, the guides shared an insight into how Central rewards high-spending customers with exclusive benefits. During the Q&A session at the end, participants had the opportunity to inquire about the company’s future. Central Group emphasized its focus on maintaining its leadership in retail and hospitality within Thailand, while exploring opportunities for global growth.
