Mahidol University International College (MUIC) partnered recently with telecom giant AIS in a campaign that transforms electronic waste (e-waste) into Pride-themed fashion pieces in time for World Environment Day.
As part of the campaign, MUIC contributed various types of e-waste, including old mobile phones, charging cables, earphones, and other unused electronic devices. These materials were creatively repurposed into DIY Pride-themed fashion accessories under the concept, "What was once discarded still holds value."
The symbolic Pride outfits showcased how discarded resources can be transformed into meaningful creations, highlighting the potential of circular resource use while promoting diversity, inclusion, and equality within society.
Following the event, all collected e-waste will be processed through proper recycling channels to minimize environmental impact and return valuable materials to the circular economy. Through this initiative, MUIC reaffirms its commitment to responsible waste management and environmental protection.
