Mahidol University International College (MUIC), in collaboration with BDMS Wellness Clinic, successfully concluded the inaugural Entrepreneurship in Healthcare and Wellness Business program, a one-month professional training program designed to provide MUIC students with practical experience and industry exposure in the rapidly growing healthcare and wellness sector.

Held from August 3 to 31, 2026, at BDMS Wellness Clinic, the program provided selected MUIC students from the Travel and Service Business Entrepreneurship and Biological Science programs with an opportunity to learn directly from industry professionals and gain firsthand insights into healthcare and wellness clinic operations.

Throughout the program, students were exposed to key aspects of clinic operations and service management, including service processes, customer and patient experience, professional standards, and the multidisciplinary nature of healthcare and wellness services. The program also encouraged students to connect academic knowledge with real-world professional practice and develop their critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills.

A key component of the program was the students' exploration of opportunities for service enhancement. Students were encouraged to observe operational practices, identify areas with potential for further development, and formulate practical recommendations based on their learning and observations. The program also introduced students to emerging trends and future opportunities in the healthcare and wellness business, encouraging them to develop an entrepreneurial and forward-looking perspective.

The program concluded with a certificate presentation ceremony on August 31, 2026, attended by executives from both institutions, including:

  • Dr. Tanupol Virunhagarun, Chief Executive Officer – Group 8 (BDMS Wellness Clinic, BDMS Wellness Resort, BDMS Silver), Bangkok Dusit Medical Services Public Co. Ltd. (BDMS)

  • Prof. Chulathida Chomchai, M.D., Dean, MUIC

  • Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yingyot Chiaravutthi, Associate Dean, MUIC

  • Dr. Laddawan Jianvittayakit, Associate Dean for Environment and Sustainable Development, MUIC

The collaboration reflected MUIC's commitment to experiential and industry-based learning opportunities that complement classroom education and prepare students for the evolving demands of the global service economy.

Through its partnership with BDMS Wellness Clinic, MUIC aims to further strengthen opportunities for students to explore emerging career pathways in healthcare and wellness while fostering collaboration between higher education and industry.

The successful completion of the inaugural program marked an important step in the MUIC–BDMS collaboration and provided a foundation for future initiatives that support professional development, experiential learning, and talent development in Thailand's healthcare and wellness sector.

On August 22, 2026, I completed my first IRONMAN triathlon in Tallinn, Estonia: a 3.8 km swim, a 180 km bike ride, and a 42.2 km marathon. It took me 11 hours and 35 minutes. While one of the perks of finishing an IRONMAN is the right to brag, that isn’t the point of this post. The point is that MUIC supported me in achieving this personal goal through the 40th Anniversary Academic Changemakers Scholarship.
