A group of students from Mahidol University International College’s (MUIC) Communication Design Program (CDP) was selected to be part of the college’s collaboration with Lotus’s. Several of them were also granted internship slots in the retail chain giant’s summer internship program.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Chompunuch Pongjit, Associate Dean for Educational Affairs, invited the students enrolled in ICCD326 CD Practicum studio classes instructed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Dynaya Bhutipunthu and Dr. Prang Tharavanich, to participate in the collaborations between MUIC and Lotus’s composed of two projects: Track B - Redesign Package for Lotus’s In-house Brands and Track C - Lotus’s Anniversary Carnivals In-store Experiences. The latter also involved having CDP students joining the summer internship program at Lotus’s.
Lotus’s representatives visited MUIC on May 15, 2026 to present the design briefs to the classes for the two tracks and gave feedback to students’ design themes. After working on the projects for three weeks, on June 5, 2026, 40 CDP students in seven groups along with two instructors went to Lotus’s headquarters in Bangkok to present their design initiatives and pitched for the internship opportunity.
The students’ presentations received positive responses and 12 students were selected for the summer internship program. One of the instructors noted that this collaboration and internship were one of the expected learning outcomes of the program which was to create real-world impact experiences for students and connecting classrooms to industry.
