Debaters from MUIC made a good showing in the recently held Friendship Debate on April 4, 2025, grabbing the 2nd Runner-up position and bringing home two awards.

The Mahidol University International College (MUIC) Debate Dragons delivered an impressive performance at the Friendship Debate on April 4, 2025 at Srinakharinwirot University, securing the 2nd Runner-up position in a field of competitive university teams from across Thailand.

Led by a dynamic team of student debaters, MUIC’s delegation demonstrated sharp analytical skills and eloquent argumentation throughout the tournament. Notably, Mr. Ibrahim Dawoodjee  (Biological Science major) was awarded the Best Debater Award, recognizing his consistent excellence in both prepared and impromptu rounds.

In addition to the team’s podium finish, Mr. Rahul Yadav (Physics major) received the Academic Support Award, honoring his vital role in providing research assistance, case preparation, and strategic feedback that strengthened the team’s overall performance.

The Friendship Debate, an annual event organized by several universities in Bangkok and this year hosted by Srinakharinwirot University, aims to promote inter-university collaboration and foster a spirit of critical dialogue among students. “We are incredibly proud of our team’s achievements. This result reflects the hard work, synergy, and passion of our members,” said Mr. Dawoodjee, who is also a senior member of the club.

The MUIC Debate Dragons continue to build their reputation on the national debate circuit, with this latest achievement adding to a growing list of accolades
