Mahidol University International College’s (MUIC) Music Club organized a “Lighting Workshop” which offered students an engaging and practical introduction to the world of stage lighting and visual design.
This workshop, held on May 21, 2026 at Chroma Studio, Room A511, Aditayathorn Building, focused on the fundamental principles of lighting, including fixture types, light angles, and the psychological impact of color in performance settings. Students were taught how lighting is used to create mood, support storytelling, and highlight key moments during live events.
During the hands-on portion of the workshop, the 20 participating students had the chance to operate lighting boards, control lighting intensity and color, and experiment with different lighting setups. The instructor guided students through programming lighting cues and coordinating lighting with sound and stage movement. Many attendees expressed excitement as they discovered how even subtle lighting choices can dramatically change the audience’s experience.
This workshop helped demystify the technical side of stagecraft and opened the door for
students to become more involved in event production and theater work. By the end of the day, participants walked away with both practical skills and creative inspiration, ready to apply their knowledge to future performances or student-led events.
