Creative Technology seniors Ms. Yanisa “Nana” Khramsaeng and Mr. Noranont “Good” Surabote recently won the Grand Prize at the “NITMX Fintech Bootcamp 2026” alongside their team, FinTechMaiFinJai. Their winning platform, PAYAN (พยาน), protects e-commerce transactions across social media channels. The victory earned them an all-expenses-paid Innovation Tour to Hong Kong and Shenzhen in November 2026.
Here is what they shared about their journey and how MUIC prepared them for success:
Q: What motivated you to participate in this competition?
Yanisa: I wanted to challenge myself by trying something outside my usual field of study. My background is in Creative Technology, and I'm particularly interested in UX/UI design, so fintech was something quite new to me.
Our team consisted of people with different interests and areas of expertise. I saw it as a great opportunity to learn from one another and understand how people from different fields approach the same problem.
Working with my teammates also showed me how valuable it is to bring different skills and ideas together.
Noranont: I joined because I am interested in the future of AI and financial technology. I wanted to gain practical experience, develop my skills, and challenge myself to apply what I had learned to a real problem. The opportunity to learn from industry professionals also motivated me.
Q: In what ways did MUIC support you in this competition?
Yanisa: I think MUIC prepared us really well through the skills and experiences we gained from our classes like EC3 (English Communication 3), where we learned practical techniques for public speaking and presentations.
MUIC also emphasizes teamwork and communication, which helped me collaborate with teammates from different academic backgrounds.
Creative Technology is also a multidisciplinary program that gives us opportunities to study creative subjects as well as business-related courses.
Having a basic understanding of programming helped me communicate with the developers on our team, understand their technical decisions, and work together more effectively.
Noranont: MUIC helped me develop creativity and multi-design thinking skills through my studies. These skills were useful when identifying the problem we wanted to solve, understanding users’ needs, and exploring different approaches.
When developing PAYAN, I could apply this way of thinking to the concerns of buyers and sellers and consider how our solution could make their experience safer and clearer.
Q: What would you tell a senior high school student to encourage them to enroll in your major in the near future?
Yanisa: I would tell them that if they are interested in both creativity and technology, Creative Technology is a great major to explore. It allows you to experience both and discover what interests you most, whether it’s UX/UI design, graphic design, interactive media, coding, game design, and even music production. You get to try different things and develop a variety of skills along the way.
I think the most valuable part is learning how to turn creative ideas into something that people can actually use. Having knowledge from different fields helps you understand the bigger picture and work better with people from different backgrounds.
Noranont: If you are curious about technology and enjoy creative thinking, I would encourage you to consider Creative Technology. What I value about the major is the opportunity to explore different fields and learn how to connect them.
I would also encourage students to stay curious and put their ideas into practice through projects and competitions. These experiences can help you discover your strengths and see how what you learn can be useful to others. For me, this competition was an opportunity to bring creativity, design thinking, and technology together.
A Multidisciplinary Major
By blending multidisciplinary coursework, design thinking, and effective presentation skills, Yanisa and Noranont demonstrated how classroom learning translates into real-world innovation. Their success highlights the power of stepping beyond your comfort zone and collaborating across disciplines. For all MUIC students, their journey serves as an inspiring call to action: stay curious, put your classroom knowledge into practice, and never hesitate to challenge yourself on bigger stages.
