The Preparation Center for Languages and Mathematics (PC) hosted an orientation event for Quarter 4, 2026 on Monday, September 14, in Spectrum Screening Space at the Aditayathorn Building. In attendance were 90 new students.
Parents and guardians were also invited to the orientation to have an opportunity to learn from staff, meet instructors, and experience the MUIC campus environment. The aim was to strengthen relations and outline expectations for the incoming students.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yingyot Chiaravutthi, Associate Dean of Mahidol University International College (MUIC), gave a welcoming address to new PC and MP students. Mr. Mark Manning, the Director of PC, and Mr. Paul Murphy, the Assistant Director, shared some important benefits of PC as well as details about the skills, characteristics, and resources needed to succeed in the program. During this segment, additional information about campus services and facilities was shared, and the names and photos of students who earned awards for "Outstanding Contributions" and "Academic Excellence" were displayed.
Ms. Satja Sopha, Senior Secretary of PC, and Ms. Sutasinee Teekabut, Head of the General Services Unit, conducted the next session in the Thai language. Ms. Pathida Jamorntamakul and Ms. Phim-On Cheevaphitakpol led a parallel presentation in English for the international students. These presentations provided general information about the program, including support staff roles, study guidelines, facilities, and services, to help new students and parents become familiar with the advantages of PC and MUIC.
The final portion of the orientation involved visits to the classrooms. To get a sense of the environment and content of each PC level, the new students and many of their parents attended welcome sessions with instructors.
We thank the new students and their parents/guardians for attending the event, and we would like to warmly welcome them to the PC and MUIC community. This event marked another successful orientation to start students on the pathway to MUIC.
