AGC Club Holds Game Design Competition

From May 30 to July 29, 2023, a total of 15 contestants joined the AGC Game Design Competition organized by the Animations, Games, & Comics Club (AGC).

During that month-long period, the contestants came up with intriguing ideas and beautiful artworks, and on June 29, at Room 1210, MUIC Building 1, the contestants presented their ideas to a panel of three judges, composed of Dr. Wankwan Polachan, a faculty member of MUIC’s Fine and Applied Arts Division; Dr. Pisit Praiwattana of the Faculty of ICT of Mahidol University; and Mr. Ravisr Manomaivibul, game designer of Joojee’s Journey.

Afterwards, a public voting was held. In the end, the 4th Place went to Hungry Ngub with their “Capyrun Game,” a capybara platformer. The 3rd Place went to Pong’s Production with the game “Desperado’s Gambit,” a thrilling poker-wildwest RPG. The 2nd Place went to Metalpipefalling.mp4 with their game “Dash-out,” a fast-paced online action game. The 1st Place went to Converge with their game “Converge,” a story-based caravan journey game.

The club congratulated all the winners and expressed its thanks to all the contestants and the 46 voters for their support of the activity.

1. Kansupanach Saengkaew, Junior, ICIC, 1st Place (5,500 Baht cash prize)

2. Kunanon Thappawong, Freshman, ICCI, 2nd Place (4,000 Baht cash prize)

3. Wongsatorn Suwannarit, Freshman, ICCI, 2nd Place (4,000 Baht cash prize)

4. Weeraphat Sonlar, Senior, ICIR, 3rd Place (3,000 Baht cash prize)

5. Dhitipond Taveevararuk, Junior, ICCD,  4th Place (3,000 Baht cash prize)

Note: 3rd and 4th Place winners each received 3,000 Baht cash prize.
