The Science Society Club of Mahidol University International College (MUIC) kickstarted the 3rd Trimester of Academic Year 2022 - 2023 with “Compost Critters Online Activity” that encouraged students to explore and identify the community of species existing in the Mahidol University Salaya campus.

The activity, held from May 3 to June 30, 2023, allowed participants to use an online tool or mobile phone app to identify the species they encounter.

The club said it aimed to integrate the practice of connecting observation, research, technology, and acquired knowledge in the field of science through this activity. At the same time, the competition lent more motivation for the student participants.

This activity was in collaboration with Nature Lovers Club. The Science Society Club said it received various collections of species from students – from animals to plants – that were identified in Salaya campus.

The three winners that each received 500 Baht cash prize are:

1. Patcharaporn Wongkaeo (IRGA)

2. Napat Palivanich (ICBI)

3. Pichayada Kokanutaporn (ICMF)

The Science Society Club said it would like to thank all participants and asked them to “stay tuned for more of our activities!”
