MUIC Bio Sci & Japanese Students Join Social and Health Development Training Program

Several Biological Sciences students of Mahidol University International College (MUIC) participated in the “Social and Health Development in Thailand” international youth program conducted by the ASEAN Institute Health Development (AIHD) for Japanese and Thai students at ASEAN House, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus on August 6-14, 2023.

The program was aimed at enhancing the participants’ understanding of social and health issues and familiarize them with current and future strategies to solve said problems.

During the training program, the participants visited several facilities that provide primary, secondary and tertiary levels of health care in order for them to get a first-hand experience of each type of health and level of care departments.

Moreover, participants were allowed to interview the executives, physicians, and staff to get more information and insights. Participants did not only get to learn more about the health systems in Thailand but were also able to exchange knowledge with Japanese students, potentially giving both sides the opportunity to consider further improvements in health systems in both countries.

The participating MUIC students were: Warisa Pitaksinagorn, Rarisara Seksuntisakul, Ibrahim O. Dawoodjee, Phuwaneth Panyasareeporn, and Pornkaeo Sae-chong.
