This year, the Dance Club of Mahidol University International College (MUIC) hosted a major event, the Dance Showcase: The Eternal of Elements held on March 20, 2025 at Room A556, Aditayathorn Building.

Regarding the theme, the Dance Club chose the four elements: Fire, Earth, Air, and Water. The story goes that these four elements became greedy and each one trying to dominate the other elements, resulting in a big fight that soon turned into a disaster. In the end, the elements realized that their fighting did not benefit anyone, which is the reason why they all chose to unite with each other in the end.

Each element represented a different dance style. Fire was represented through girls style and street jazz while Earth was represented through hip hop. On the other hand, Air was represented through contemporary and Water was represented through house and R&B.

The Dance Club invited skillful dancers from outside to create original choreography for each element, making the Dance Showcase original and exclusive—only available in MUIC.

Each element’s dancers—comprising 31 club members—had around 1-2 months of practice time, which allowed the dancers to perfect each of their dance numbers and create familiarity with the moves and the music. Each element practiced once a week, from January 20 to March 19, 2025, in Rooms 2302 and 3407 in MUIC Building 1.

As the day of the event neared, the club members came together to rehearse for the mega crew performance, a performance that united everyone together. They used the ground floor space at the old building to practice together as it required a big amount of space. It would also be easier to see the whole picture of the performance and fix anything that was needed.

The Dance Club also asked help from other students to help with the graphics and registration as well to ensure the success of the show. On show day, the Dance Club also had the lighting team coordinate the lights to each specific performance as well, further amplifying the experience of the show overall. The venue was decorated with leaves and paper that introduced the aesthetic to the audience.

As a result, the whole hall was sold out, every seat was filled with audience members and the show was concluded with happiness and a feeling of great accomplishment among the Dance Club members.
