The Debate Club Mahidol University International College (MUIC) represented the college with a strong showing against strong teams from Singapore, the Philippines and Malaysia, garnering 5th Place with only a one-point margin to make the final.

The Malaysia Autoshow Debate 2025 was a special competition organized in parts by the International Islamic University, Malaysia(IIUM). Invited as one of eight teams to represent institutions from seven ASEAN countries, the Debate Club (nicknamed Debate Dragons) sent one team and two observers to the international event. Held from May 12 to15, 2025, the competition offered a dynamic venue for club members to refine their debating skills and engage in compelling discourse by challenging themselves to stimulating topics and environment.

The competition pushed the club members to research and expand their knowledge of automobile technology and industry, a field that is rarely discussed in competitive debate. The main compelling topics included the automobile industry, economy and its development in ASEAN.

The MUIC team competed head-on against veteran representatives from top universities across the region such as Ateneo de Manila University from the Philippines and Nanyang Technological University from Singapore.

The team and newbie observers worked together to navigate difficult motions, along with engaging in meaningful discussions and valuable networking with experienced debaters, judges and coaches from other debate communities that provided them with incredible insights, techniques and knowledge that are useful for all members.
