Prof. Chulathida Chomchai, MD, Dean of Mahidol University International College (MUIC) and Asst. Prof. Dale Konstanz, Associate Dean for International Affairs of MUIC, recently visited two partner universities in Dublin, Ireland in a bid to strengthen bilateral relationships.

Their trip to the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) and Trinity College Dublin (TCD) highlighted MUIC's continued commitment to fostering global collaborations and advancing the exchange of knowledge in education.

The key event of the visit was a productive meeting on February 28, 2025, with Dr. Roisin Moriarty, International Engagement Manager at RCSI and Prof. Celine Marmion, Deputy Dean for Student Engagement and Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine. The discussion focused on the Global Health Summer School and Innovation Challenge, both of which aim to bridge gaps in healthcare education and foster international cooperation. The collaboration with RCSI in this initiative promises to provide students with a deep, multi-dimensional understanding of global health challenges while also encouraging innovation in healthcare solutions.

The second half of the meeting focused on the Research Summer School at RCSI, an initiative designed to offer MUIC students the opportunity to engage in cutting-edge scientific research. The online meeting included Ms. Mya Kay Kywe Tun, an MUIC Biological Science student who will soon embark on her research journey at RCSI, and Dr. Tumnoon Charaslertrangsi, Program Director of the Biological Science Program at MUIC who met virtually with advisor, Dr. Aamir Hameed, RCSI faculty member in Anatomy and Regenerative Health.

Dean Chulathida and Asst. Prof. Konstanz also visited Trinity College Dublin (TCD) on March 3, 2025 to strengthen the partnership between the two institutions. The meeting, held with Mr. Leo McNamee, Manager of Partnerships, Networks, and Alliances at TCD, centered on enhancing student mobility, exploring potential progression agreements, and discussing short-term academic programs.
