In order to highlight the numerous accreditations and certifications garnered by several of its major programs, Mahidol University International College (MUIC) organized “MUIC Accreditation Showcase” on September 27, 2024.

Guidance counselors and officials from several of MUIC’s feeder schools attended the event, which featured an exhibition that focuses on each accredited major.

This was followed by a panel discussion—with the opening remarks given by Asst. Prof. Dr. Patsarin Rodpothong Wongkamhang, Associate Dean for Strategic Planning and Quality Development—which had the following MUIC officials as speakers:

  • Asst. Prof. Dr. Chompunuch Pongjit, Associate Dean for Educational Affairs;
  • Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanarerk Thanakijsombat, Business Administration Division Chair;
  • Dr. Piti Ongmongkolkul, Science Division Chair;
  • Dr. Sarinya Sungkatavat, MM Program Director representing THM Division;
  • Dr. Nunnapan Puathanawat, Media and Communication Program Director; and
  • Mr. Joseph Serrani, Preparation Center for Languages and Mathematics (PC) Director.

Ajarn Chompunuch explained that accreditation is the external endorsement of a college’s academic programs by reputable organizations. This guarantees the high quality of education offered by MUIC. Due to accreditation, an educational institution can attract both high quality students and teachers and also improve its chances of networking with its peers and betters.

Each of the Division Chairs and Program Directors explained the rigorous accreditation process of their respective divisions and programs and pointed out that MUIC is among the few colleges in Thailand that had been certified by such accreditation and certification bodies such as:

  • Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) for the Business Administration Division;
  • ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) for Travel and Service Business Entrepreneurship, Communication Design, Computer Science and Media & Communication programs;
  • American Chemical Society (ACS) for Chemistry program;
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) for Finance program;
  • UNWTO TedQual for Travel and Service Business Entrepreneurship program;
  • Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) for Applied Mathematics program; and
  • National ELT Accreditation Scheme (NEAS) for the Preparation Center for Languages and Mathematics.

The speakers also shared testimonials from their respective programs’ alumni on their successful careers made possible by the continuous upgrading of curricula and adoption of best teaching practices.

The panel discussion was organized by the Corporate Communication Unit while the exhibition was the responsibility of the Planning and Quality Development Section.
