A group of five talented International Relations and Global Affairs (IRGA) sophomore students who are also members of Mahidol University International College - Model United Nations (MUICMUN) Club participated in a UNSC Training Simulation organized by the MUIC Model United Nations Club. The event took place from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on November 9, 2024 at Thammasat University’s Tha Prachan Campus.

This immersive training simulation provided the participants – Tawan Lairaksa, Metawee Phethin, Panyawat Wongliukul, Attanon Ruangritwatana, and Thanapath Patthum – with the opportunity to step into the shoes of powerful UN Security Council members. They engaged in intense negotiations, debated critical global security issues, and experienced firsthand the complexities of international diplomacy.

The simulation emphasized the strategic use of veto power, the formation of alliances, and effective crisis management. The primary objective of this activity was to introduce MUICMUN members to the intricacies of the UNSC committee and equip them with the essential skills to excel in future MUN conferences.

By participating in this simulation, participants gained valuable insights into the dynamics of international relations, honed their public speaking and negotiation abilities, and developed a deeper understanding of global security challenges.

This UNSC Training Simulation provided a valuable opportunity for MUICMUN members to expand their knowledge, network with other MUN enthusiasts, and prepare for future diplomatic endeavors.
