Mahidol University International College’s (MUIC) Model United Nations (MUN) Club organized the second session of “Spill the Tea: MUN Myths vs. Reality with MUICMUN” at Room A451, Aditayathorn Building on June 20, 2024.

In this activity, 16 students—who were either MUN Club members or event participants—convened to dispel long-standing misconceptions about the MUN Club and Model United Nations in general.

In the first hour of the session, the moderator gave a welcoming speech to the participants, who were then given a Mentimeter poll to evaluate their perception regarding certain aspects of Model United Nations.

After the poll was completed, the moderator gave a speech on some of the widely held misconceptions about Model United Nations. After each point, the moderator explained Model United Nation's activities and gave insights into real-life experiences from some MUN members. The first hour ended with a Q&A session where participants could ask MUN members about various topics such as experiences from previous MUN conferences or details about MUN proceedings.

During the second half of the session, participants played a Kahoot game about MUN definitions and proceedings to learn more about MUN and to connect with fellow participants and MUN Club members. The event ended with a networking session where participants connected with each other and with MUN Club officers and members to learn more about MUN and their experiences joining past MUNs either as a delegate or an observer.
