Scuba Theory Session with MUIC’s Diving Club

Mahidol University International College’s (MUIC) Diving Club organized a “Scuba Theory Session” for 27 students on February 29 and March 7, 2024 at the Old Building.

This session is mandatory for those who intend to join the “Pool and Ocean Sessions” in order to instill safety precautions and highlight significant points of scuba diving to the participants, ensuring that they are well-prepared and aware of the challenges they may encounter.

In this semester’s sessions, the Diving Club had the privilege of hosting Mr. Jirat Kiratiratanakulchai, also known as Kame, a professional scuba diving instructor from Just Dive Thailand, who provided two theory sessions, offering participants a comprehensive understanding of scuba diving.

These theory sessions play a crucial role in expanding students’ knowledge of dive physics, physiology, equipment, decompression theory, and dive planning. The guest speaker shared significant information about diving theory that every scuba diver should know. He conveyed this information through real-life diving situations that he had experienced, providing practical insights that will prepare participants for their scuba diving adventures in the ocean session.

The guest speaker also emphasized the importance of becoming responsible and conscientious divers. He highlighted fundamental etiquette and manners that scuba divers should uphold, not only for their safety but also for the well-being of their dive buddies, marine life, and the ecology and environment underwater. These valuable lessons contribute to creating a community of skilled and environmentally conscious scuba divers within the MUIC Diving Club.
