Two students from Mahidol University International College (MUIC) captivated audiences with their command of the French language and interpretive skill, earning a place in the final round of the French Literature Reading Competition on March 13, 2026, at the Alliance Française Bangkok.
Ms. Nutcha Kitkerdsaeng, a French major in Intercultural Studies and Languages, and Ms. Runchana Langsan, a Finance major with a minor in French, were celebrated for performances that demonstrated not only linguistic precision but also a deep artistic sensitivity. They successfully transformed the written word into a compelling live experience for all in attendance.
The competition was a highlight of a literary evening organized by the Bangkok Literature & Arts Festival, Library House, and the Alliance Française Bangkok. The event also marked the official launch of the Thai translation of Hiver à Sokcho, a critically acclaimed novel by French author Elisa Shua Dusapin.
The achievement provided the students with an invaluable opportunity to engage with contemporary French literature in a dynamic, real-world setting. By bringing the text to life through their voices, they sharpened their expressive abilities and showcased the power of language to bridge cultures.
