Students and faculty members from Mahidol University International College’s (MUIC) Communication Design (CDP) and Creative Technology (CT) programs showcased their technical artistry by designing motion graphics and projection mapping displays for the Mahidol University Orientation 2026 on July 31, 2026 at Prince Mahidol Hall.
Centered around this year’s theme, “All on Board – Destination Future,” the student-led creative team produced dynamic visual backdrops for the university president’s address, faculty introduction sequences, the MU Choir, and live concert performances.
The production process involved close collaboration between students, faculty mentors, and university leadership. Under the guidance of CDP instructors Asst. Prof. Dr. Dynaya Bhutipunthu, Ajarn Yuttana Suntivong, and Ajarn Sarrath Virasakdi, students directed pre-shooting studio sessions at the Aditayathorn Building. Prof. Piyamitr Sritara, MD, FRCP, Mahidol University President, alongside members of the orientation working committee, participated directly in the shoots to create custom footage aligned with the design storyboards.
The finished projection displays and interactive elements delivered an immersive atmosphere for the incoming cohort, drawing strong praise from attendees.
Beyond elevating the orientation experience, the project served as a practical execution of UN Sustainable Development Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). The hands-on initiative provided CDP and CT students with industry-grade experience, helping them build competitive portfolios tailored for careers in stage design, event production, and the creative entertainment industry.
