The Diving Club of Mahidol University International College (MUIC) held the “Ocean Session” at Samaesarn, Chonburi on June 24-25, 2023. This well-known activity provided many opportunities for students who are interested in taking a scuba diving course and eventually get their certificate.

The 24 students who participated in this activity were also able to learn more about marine life and see them in their natural surroundings. The students were able to practice scuba diving in the ocean and then proceed to take a practical exam in order to be given their certificates.

Apart from the goal of getting students an official scuba diving license and certificate, the club, along with professional instructors, also promoted marine knowledge and conservation to students during the ocean session.

Moreover, the club also instilled the value of marine life and the need to preserve its ecology to students. It added, “We are happy that we can help create a warm diving community in Thailand and help promote marine knowledge and concern through our club’s activity.”

While one of the perks of finishing an IRONMAN is the right to brag, that isn’t the point of this post. The point is that MUIC supported me in achieving this personal goal through the 40th Anniversary Academic Changemakers Scholarship.
