The International Student Committee (ISC) of Mahidol University International College (MUIC) organized its first “Food Workshop at the Kitchen,” held at MUIC Building 1 on June 12 - 13, 2024.

This event gave participants the chance to cook different cultural dishes while having the chance to meet new friends from across the globe. The event attracted 37 participants, giving them the chance to make unique culinary delicacies and experience the process of cooking themselves.

On the first day of the event, participants made mitarashi dango, a traditional Japanese dessert but with a Thai twist with its Thai tea sauce that they themselves have made. They were allowed to express their creativity by choosing different colors and shapes for the dangos. On the second day of the event, the menu was a Thai tea sago drink topped with ice cream. Although making sago was difficult, many participants emerged from the workshop with mouth-watering drinks!

This event was organized to promote the cultural diversity in MUIC and raise awareness of authentic cooking methods. Many participants expressed their appreciation for the event and have requested more food workshops in the future. Overall, participants enjoyed their time with ISC’s “Food Workshop” and ISC officials said they would like to thank everyone for their participation and hope to see everyone again in future workshops.
