Mahidol University International College’s (MUIC) Investment Club came up with an activity called the “MUIC Trading Challenge” where students can experience what happens in trading stocks by using “Investopedia,” a global financial media website which uses real data and prices.

The 4-week-long event was launched on May 13, 2025 at Room A415 Aditayathorn Building, attended by 50 students who were interested in the world of trading. Investment Club members explained the mechanics and rules of the challenge at the same time teaching the students about the basic indicators of trading and the initial steps they have to take.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Kanix Bukkavesa, CFA, a faculty member of the Business Administration Division’s Finance Program, also gave a short lecture about the fundamentals of trading.

During the 4-week duration of the challenge, each team will have a starting fund of $100,000 in simulated money on Investopedia to enable them to start trading. Each week the rankings are posted by the MUIC Investment Club to keep the participants updated. Aside from this, the club will always post news articles about developments that may have an effect on the stock market.
